I met and greeted Charles several times over the months, both at Mission Possible and at Church Under the Bridge. I finally got to talk with him a little longer at CUB this time.
My frustration was with his unwillingness to elaborate on the points he brought up. The sections of conversation I published contain his lengthiest responses. To be fair, the entire time we spoke, he eyed a table near us handing out hard-boiled eggs and made regular comments about wanting one (he didn’t want to stand in line to get one). But I think I’ve been used to people openly explaining many personal aspects of their lives. Speaking with Charles reminded me to keep patience and respect for a person willing to sacrifice time to talk to me. I hope you still learned a little about a man, his attitude, and his situation.
